Mom's Homemade Rolls



1 Cup Really Warm Water
1 Tbsp. Mashed Potatoes (Optional)
1 Egg
1 Tbsp. Shortening
3 Cups Flour
3 Tbsp. Sugar
4 Tbsp. Dry Milk
1/2 Tbsp. Salt
1 Tbsp. Yeast

Put all ingredients, in order, into bread maker pan. Set dough cycle. When finished, roll out on a floured board into large rectangle. Cut into 16 strips and tie in a knot. Place on greased cookie sheet, cover with a clean dish towel and let rise for an hour. Bake at 375 for 8 minutes or until lightly browned.
